General Kwesule

It is a students welfare organisation that contains students from western region,Abaluhya Community in Technical University of Mombasa.

It was Formed in 2007 by Enos and Amos(Chairperson and Secretary General).It was initially known as MPASA -MOMBASA POLYTECHNIC ABALUHYA STUDENTS ASSOCIATION before it was changed to TUM MULEMBE FAMILY in 2015,by a group of group of Technical University of Mombasa students,i.e Majons,Elvis,Paul,Aurelia,Shitandi,Gerald,Decko.

It’s main aim was to unite students from western region.It entails members from Busia,Vihiga,Malaba,Kakamega and Bungoma.

Its Officials in 2009 were Shiundu-Chairperson,Sheikh- V.Chairperson,Erick Mulamba-Secretary General and Solomon Imbwaga-Organising Secretary.

How to become a member?How do you benefit from the organization?

Its members are strictly Luhyas because it is formed by Luhya community.To become a member,the person is requested to pay ksh.100 per semester as registration fee. New members are always welcomed in every intake.i.e September intake.

Their are a variety of benefits members get from the organization

Naturing of talents. The organization formed a football club in 5th November 2019 called TUM INGWE FC,Managed by Michael Bosco,OJ,Derrick Wafula(Kwesule)Kevin Murunga,Pauline,Ochieng(Coach).It has 22players,Fidel being their captain and currently it is playing in Mombasa league.
During Campus politics,Aspirants get various support from members during campaigns i.e both financially and during campaigning period.
It has a self help group “Mulembe self help group” where members give their support to a member, i.e a member who has been bereaved,difficulties in paying of school fees,house rent e.t.c
During cultural week members gather together to showcase their culture to other communities.
Supporting various talents aside from football, It has also models,Brenda, Egla, Miss Tum Purity former Mr Tum. Okoche Dancun, Artists,GhettoMan,Zeko and Comedian,Ochy etc

ACHIEVEMENTS

The group has been able to have representatives from the TUMSA student union, Most recent Student leaders were, Antony G-Sport and entertainment secretary 2018-2019,Dennis Okanga-TUMSA President 2019-2020 and Harry Sululu-Academic Secretary 2019-2020.
The former Officials led by OJ,Vanessa Amikato,Gilbert Nalwa,Michael Bosco,Yvonne and Kwesule managed to organise for a mulembe night which attracted other communities to follow suit.This was aid by the committee which was led by the late Emily Brittany.
Also the Former officials formed THE TUM INGWE FC that helps in naturing talents.
The former Chairperson, Ramsey is currently pursuing his PHD in USA and this gives motivation to members.Everything is achievable.
Talents,from members support the group have produced Mr.Tum 2018-2019 and Miss Tum 2019-2020.
During TUMSA AWARDS on 10th December 2019 a number of the members were awarded.i.e Cedric Wandera(254 Reporters best Vlog of the year, Epic Green Entertainment Kenya best theater group of the year.), GhettoMan(Male artist of the year)Ochy the comedian, Dictator Kwesule(blogger of year),Egla(model)etc.
